Onion | : 1 no. |
Green Chilly | : 3 -4 nos |
Curry leaves and Coriander leaves | : little |
Ginger | : a small piece |
Kashmiri chilli powder | : 1 tsp |
Coriander Powder | : ½ tsp |
Pepper Powder | : ½ tsp |
Cumin Powder | : ¼ tsp |
Garam Masala Powder | : ¾ tsp |
CornFlour / Maida | : ½ cup |
Bread crumbs | : 1 cup |
oil | : for frying |
Step by step recipe for Crispy Paneer Fingers:
- Boil the potatoes and keep aside.
- Cut the Paneer into cubes and crush coarsely in a chopper/ grinder.
- Chop ginger, green chillies, onion, curry leaves and Coriander leaves finely.
- Mix together all the chopped ingredients, coarsely powdered Paneer, mashed potatoes, chilli, coriander, pepper powder, cumin powder and Garam Masala with enough salt.
- Shape into bite sized fingers or round cutlets.
- Dust the fingers with little flour. Mix rest of Maida/ Flour with water to make a semi- thick flowing batter. Dip the Paneer fingers in this batter (you can also use beaten egg) and roll in bread crumbs. Alternately, you can use Sooji or roasted Semolina for final coating.
Fry in oil till golden brown. Serve them hot with Tomato sauce.
Tips:
- Adjust the spices according to your taste.
- Grind Paneer only for few seconds to get a grainy texture.
- If you feel that the mix is too soft add little Corn flour or bread crumbs to make firm cutlets.
- Shape the Paneer mix to fingers or rounds or any shape you like.
- You may also toast these rolls on Tawa, but deep frying makes it tastier, crunchier on the outside and softer on the inside.
- For making fresh bread crumbs, use two days old bread which makes it crispier. You may also use readymade bread crumbs.
- The Maida batter should be runny without any lumps. You may also use beaten egg instead of Maida batter.

Hi ,
Can I make it today and keep in the fridge and fry it tomorrow. We are having a get together tomorrow. If I omit the chillies will it still taste good?
Yes. You can keep in fridge and fry tomorrow. Chillies add to the taste, you can reduce the measure if you prefer less spicy. Hope this helps.
